We build mobile network infrastructure which delivers 2G, 3G and 4G services to the unserved and underserved rural communities in Africa. We have traded large investments and high complexity in the core for the greatest simplicity and lowest cost in the radio access network, to allow the access network to be rolled out rapidly and on a huge scale to reach the smallest communities and largest total population.
Rural Telephony (Voice and data)

In remote and unserved locations where people do not benefit from mobile connectivity, we offer cost-efficient radio access technology to our clients. Rainbow Mobile Networks builds and sustainably operates mobile network base stations in Africa, connecting the unconnected rural populations as well as the unserved and underserved. Lower/moderate demand for mobile services that exist in rural and remote areas is a result of lower population density, lower incomes and lack of awareness or understanding about the benefits of mobile internet. These factors propound a critical barrier to building a commercially sustainable business case for rural telephony. Revenues per site are typically 80% – 90% lower in rural and remote areas compared to urban areas. Below are the factors.

Rainbow Mobile Networks has designed the best solution to address these teething problems that stagnate the development of Rural Telephony in Ghana in partnership with Ghana Investment Fund for Electronic Communications (GIFEC) and Mobile Networks Operators (MNOs) within a collaborative framework that ensures the use of existing core network infrastructure of MNOs, cost-efficient Open Radio Access Network technology, Optimized cost by building the network on Non-Line of Site (NLOS) or Near-Line of Site(nLOS) transmission/backhaul technology as opposed to costly traditional satellite transmission and energy efficiency active components via GREEN ENERGY solutions with an amalgamation of Solar panels and Back up batteries.

Telecom Site Construction
Where required, we construct new towers for customers, enabling them to expand their networks. We handle every step of the project to build a site specific to each customer’s requirements. This includes site analysis (land surveys, environmental site assessment, geo-technical analysis, zoning and permitting); site acquisition; permitting and legal due diligence; site development; construction management; and equipment installation, operation and management. We offer camouflaged, or harmonized solutions to minimize visual pollution. We also develop interim solutions for seasonal or temporary events. If a new tower site cannot be constructed, we provide adaptable solutions such as pole mounted and rooftop mounted masts. The antennas in all our solutions can be utilized for different wireless technology applications including voice, data and radio.
Distributed Antenna Services
We build antenna solutions used to re-distribute a telecommunications signal in high capacity and densely populated locations, allowing clients to increase densification and coverage/capacity. We also offer connected solutions for large buildings requiring robust mobile services, such as hotels, offices, metro stations, airports, stadiums and shopping malls. Distributed Antenna System (DAS) is an efficient and discreet way of creating better coverage for operators. Once installed, these systems can also enhance the value of the property. Expert planners and customer representatives will engage you on your connectivity needs to design a bespoke solution. A Technical Site Survey (TSS) will help to evaluate your network coverage and signal strength to enable accurate panning to ensure you receive the best signal strength: A customized installation plan is designed according to needs, building size, and external signal strength, based on the outcome of the initial consultation and site survey.

Remote Monitoring can also be implemented to ensure optimal performance, maintenance and support for any potential problems. Remote monitoring is vital, as it alerts customers of any changes or issues which may indicate the need for adjustments to the installed equipment for optimal performance.
